Maxine Dexter, MD is a physician who is running for the Oregon House of Representative for District 33 in the Democratic primary. Maxine is a strong progressive who is ready to lead on health care reform on day one. She is also running on improving Oregonian’s health through fighting for housing for all, a stronger education system, environmental health, gun violence prevention, amongst other issues. The primary is May 19th, and we are looking for campaign fellows to aid campaign leadership in field operations and maintaining campaign organization. Maxine for Oregon –
Our fellows’ duties will largely depend on their previous experience and skill set. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Canvassing, at least one shift (2-3 hours) a week and a willingness to do much more when necessary (especially during Get Out the Vote)
- Database maintenance
- Donor research
- Postcard writing
- Social media content creation
- News research
- Event research
- Staffing events with or on behalf of the candidate (community meetings, house parties, etc.) and
- Volunteer recruitment
This is an unpaid position, ideal for people looking to gain experience with political campaigns. The position is 8-15 hours per week, with work on the weekends. There is no education threshold, but candidates must be passionate about bringing positive change to the Oregon legislature.
